English Writing Teacher
Cindy has been teaching reading and English since 1980, first to her students in California, then to her own five children as she homeschooled them, as well as numerous tutoring students. She has taught at several charter schools in the twin cities and also Risen Christ Catholic School. A graduate in English from Stanford University, Cindy also earned her master’s degree from the Stanford Teacher Education Program(STEP).
An avid reader since she was a child, Cindy has a passion for teaching reading and writing. Cindy takes an individualized approach, using a large dose of encouragement as well as guidance on the specifics of what makes a good writer.
Cindy loves children and teens, and has a lot of fun with them. Her hobbies, other than reading, include bike riding, running half marathons, visiting museums, and traveling. She also enjoys her time on the Park Board in Bloomington.
